STRUCTURE OF REGISTRY

The National Registry dates back to the All-Union Distributed Registry set up by the Ministry of Health Care in 1986 immediately after the Chernobyl accident. The All-Union Distributed Registry encompassed all republics of the former Soviet Union, many research and health care institutions. Since 1991 it has been called as the Russian National Medical Dosimetric Registry (RNMDR) and in 1993 the National Radiation and Epidemiological Registry (NRER) was formed on the base of the RNMDR by the Decree of the RF Government “About state registration of persons subject to radiation effects and exposed to radiation exposure as a result of the Chernobyl and other radiation disasters and incidents“.
