RUSSIAN NATIONAL MEDICAL AND DOSIMETRIC REGISTRY
The system of the Russian National Medical and Dosimetric Registry (RNMDR) relies on receiving personalized medical and dosimetric information from the entire Russian Federation. The RNMDR framework consists of more than 4000 health care institutions in which regional, oblast and rayon divisions of the Registry are based. Almost 700 000 persons are registered in the RNMDR and 18 000 000 entries are available with diagnosis for the registered persons.

The main database contains registration, dosimetric and medical information about persons exposed to radiation or injured by radiation exposure as a result of the Chernobyl accident. The database is updated twice a year. As of now, the database includes information for almost 700 000 persons. These data have been extracted from more than 8 600 000 primary paper documents filled out since 1986.
The DB includes detailed data on cancer cases among the persons registered in the RNMDR. The DB is being updated as information becomes available about newly detected cancer cases in the followed up groups. As of now, the DB contains information for almost 28 000 cancer cases.
The DB includes detailed data on causes of death for the persons registered in the RNMDR. The DB is being updated as information becomes available on new cases of death in the followed up groups. As of now, the DB contains information for more than 72 000 cases of death.
The DB is updated as new expert conclusions become available. As of now the DB includes information for almost 16 000 cases of diseases, disability or death for which a causal link with radiation exposure has been established by the expert council.
The DB includes detailed data about the children of emergency workers along with extensive registration and dosimetric information about their parents. The DB is updated twice a year. As of now, the DB contains information for more than 39 000 children of emergency workers.
The DB includes extensive data about thyroid cancer cases in these groups of the population. The DB is updated twice a year. As of now, the DB contains information for more than 9 000 cases of thyroid cancer.
